Currently, no trade clauses and 10/5 rights are ignored. Should we as a league start to honor the players requests?
Edit: If the poll results in yes, a second poll will be posted about which kind of NTC rights we will honor.

my comment on the matter is this: any rule that limits trading isn't good for player movement. No team should be stuck with a guy they don't want to keep or don't need. It limits player movement and trading and that's not fun.

I can understand that, but my issue is GM's giving NTC's to players in FA and extensions to beat out an equal offer of a GM that doesn't offer it. Do we instead honor NTC's and ignore 10/5 rights? I don't know.

very, very good point! Should we have a rule to not allow NTC's? I think if a GM offers a NTC (and didn't inherit it) yes that's right you shouldn't be allowed to trade that player. But could be hard to police for the commish.
Also: another option to ponder is one another league uses. They will allow you to waive 10/5 guy ONLY if you are 10 games under .500 and the team receiving the player is 10 games over. And the player is given a 10% bonus (of his current year's salary) by one of the teams. Of course, you could modify this to your liking where it sounds fair. But I think the logic is 'why would the player waive it' etc

I think not allowing NTC's to be offered would be enough. For the guys that already have them, I would allow them to be traded during the off-season, and apply Imran's rule during the season.

After looking, NTC's cannot be turned off. I would either have to void any contract with an NTC, honour them saying no to trades, or ignore NTC's. So they seem to be a different beast all together than 10/5 Rights.
